Hiring: Junior Legal and Governmental Affairs Officer

AHK Indonesia/EKONID is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of the Junior Legal and Governmental Affairs Officer
 
The role involves support the Senior Executive of LIC in the following primary responsibilities including, but not limited to: 

 

  1. providing legal analyst and handling legal matters mandated by clients members, and other department within EKONID including topics related to: 
    • company establishment & licensing; 
    • corporate compliance matters; 
    • business contracts; 
    • immigration; 
    • customs, import & export; and 
    • standardization and certification;  
  2. supporting in advocacy efforts and in providing legal updates to members,  
  3. as a contact person for communication with government agencies and departments in reference to Governmental Affairs.  
  4. performing internal legal administrative duties 

 

Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university
  • Minimum one year of working experience, including internships
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Knowledge of Indonesian corporate and business regulations
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work independently as well as within a team
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks

Project description and responsibilities

The objective of this project is to establish and expand the company’s market presence in Indonesia through the engagement of a local Business Representative. The role focuses on maintaining and developing existing business relationships while actively identifying, approaching, and acquiring new customers within the Indonesian market.

 

The Business Representative will act as the primary local point of contact and work in close coordination with the Headquarters in Germany, as well as with the regional sales teams in India and Japan, to ensure strategic alignment, efficient information flow, and coordinated market activities. The position is designed to support sustainable business growth, market development, and long-term customer relationships in Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary local contact for customers and business partners in Indonesia
  • Maintain, develop, and strengthen long-term relationships with existing customers
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, customers, and projects in the Indonesian market
  • Proactively approach potential customers and support the acquisition of new accounts
  • Represent the company professionally in customer meetings, market events, and industry-related activities
  • Understand customer needs and communicate them effectively to the Headquarters and regional sales teams
  • Support sales activities by explaining products, applications, and solutions at a conceptual and practical level
  • Coordinate closely with the Headquarters in Germany and with sales teams in India and Japan to ensure aligned market and customer strategies
  • Gather and share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive information
  • Support the preparation and follow-up of customer visits, offers, and commercial discussions
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree with extensive working experience and strong networking skills will be preferred over a Master’s degree with limited professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience
  • Proven experience in customer-facing roles such as business development, sales support, account management, or commercial representation
  • Strong focus on customer relationship management and business development rather than technical engineering tasks
  • Solid technical understanding and the ability to explain technically complex products in a clear, customer-oriented way
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while being closely aligned with international teams
  • Experience working in an international, cross-cultural environment
  • High degree of reliability, professionalism, and customer orientation
  • Willingness to travel within Indonesia and occasionally internationally
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian is required, as well as advanced English skills for international communication
